hi ho, hi ho....

Well, tonight is officially my last night in Rotorua for a very long time. So a big Adios to everyone I've seen or met while I've been up here, it's been great meeting you all, but to be honest, this place is a hole, and I have a much better flat in Wellington to call home now.

I have a flat in Cuba Street, and it's just come to my attention that I haven't bragged about it yet.. It's 6 bedrooms, in an old hotel, above a pub, $500 a week between 5 of us, but best of all, the power's FREE!! :-)

So it is there I am destined to tomorrow, to be in the same room with all my flatmates (bear in mind, that although I have seen them all within the last month, we haven't all been in the same room, at the same time for over a year now), to be the only girl in the flat, and to promptly leave to grab dinner downstairs at my favourite Kebab store, have dinner on the waterfront and wander to Mt Vic to visit my grandmother and my aunt. Should be good!! :-)

My mother and I have spent the day working out last minute bits and pieces, I'm contributing quite a lot to the flat (the most valuable items being the Dishwasher, and the beanbag which we sewed up tonight to find the beans were more chips-cum-squashed-packers.) But generally, I can't wait to be in Wellington again, and she can't wait to have me out of her cupboards!!

But mother wanted me to bring something to your attention, and although a little bit has been chopped off in the scan, it's a wee thing that used to hang in my History Room during 5th Form. Take A Look :-)

Lie Down Relax Put Your Feet Up

Just saw an absolutely BRILLIANT concert! Fur Patrol and Betchadupa.

It all began when I picked up a friend of a friend from the bus station, after a few awkward conversations, a few hours, and a few sore feet, we discovered in fact, we knew each other... from addict, turns out he's a reader.... how weird.

As my friend and I sat in the City Focus waiting for (yet another) friend to arrive, we got presented with 2 free tickets to Betchadupa/Fur Patrol. As he couldn't go, he gave the ticket to me, which I proceeded to try give to a friend... ANY friend, unfortunately none of them were too keen, so after rushing home from town, getting ready in the space of about 15 minutes (and I'm a chick... congratulate me!) and waiting for my ride, I got picked up, zoomed into town where we FINALLY got a home for the ticket.

So after much mucking around (ticket said doors open at 7, Fur Patrol's bassist said 9) we arrived at 9, ID'ed and let in.

Betchadupa Rock.

They are a talented group of guys, who can pull off a concert (which to me is very important), in fact, in my opinion they were better in concert then on recording!!

Fur Patrol, also, Rock

Julia (Deans, lead singer) belted out the tunes, very well and everyone (and I mean everyone, you could hear them above the guitars and singing and drums) sung along to Lydia (I'm still gutted they didn't sing 'Chlamydia', the version they sung in Wellington) and we got our encore, which went off, for me, in the front row, moshing next to the bassist and lead singer's girlfriend from Betchadupa, and generally having a great time.

Before I left I said hi to Betchadupa, well done and that I was sorry Rotorua is such a shithole and had never heard of them (the sign out front proclaimed to the world that Fur Patrol and 'Betchadupu' were playing), and also managed to score Fur Patrol's set list...

ah what a wonderful night... and all for free.

I'll be, Home Again

This'll officially be my last update for this year from Wellington, as I'm packing up my computer tonight and going home on Tuesday *yay*

I may miss Rotorua now, but I guarantee I'll be there a week and dying for my freedom and the 24 hour store!!

But on Monday I'll get to see two people I've been missing dearly... my Mother and my Best Friend, Charis (yes! I finally mentioned her... she's been wanting me to for a LONG time now) so to all the Rotoruians and the Aucklander who has decided to drive down and visit (you know who you are) I'll BE HOME SOON!

Home Sweet Home

Well after 7 hours of hell on the bus, with the driver telling me about species of cows... 'and to the right is a Jersey cow, well known for its... blah blah blah'. I think that bus trip is better to be not talked about.

Well I got home, saw my best mate at work, came home, said best friend came over, watched Dawsons Creek and took best friend home. Having had no sleep for well over 24 hours, I thought the pillow would be the next thing I saw....

But no, I got bored.... and hyper.....

So I called a friend, who recently got a flat with some mates in a more shady suburb of Rotorua. Asked if anyone was sober, to my surprise, somebody was, and more to my surprise, it was the friend who's a piss head and used to be the first one wasted. So I bribed him to come pick me up.

I wish I knew the flat had a spa before I left....

So, having stayed up a total of 36 hours, I finally took a 5 hour nap, to wake up, and travel to town. Good Trip that, if you live in Rotorua, go for a walk between Pak and Slave and Pumpkin Planet on Fenton Street.... you will find a trail of Fruit Burst Jelly Beans.... we didn't manage to catch them all in our mouths. On said trip to Pumpkin Planet, I managed to score this little mini pumpkin for 95cents, so now I have a mini jack-o-lantern I also scored a single brussell sprout for 5 cents which I nuked then dared my brother to eat for a dollar..... it was worth it!!

My friends are fascinated with my miniature lighter. So I'm getting them ones when I head back to the capital, they're putting in their orders... ACK! You think they could get 'em in Roto-hole wouldn'tcha?

Well, as of about 3.10 tomorrow I will have a pierced Libret. This is the bit between your lower lip and chin... I've wanted it done for a while, and dammit, I'm gunna do it!!

Well, I'm meeting Miss New Zealand at some thing tonight, should be interesting to say the least. Still not sure WHY I'm going, but it's something to do I guess.
